Hazel Ruth Odom, 85, of Nashville died Tuesday June 19, 2012 in the Tift Regional Medical Center.

She was born March 4, 1927 in Turner County to the late Newt Wheeler and the late Katie Bowman. She was a homemaker and member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church. She was the widow of Ralph Willard Odom who died in 1996. She was also preceded in death by a son: Steve Odom, daughter: Sandra Odom, 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Vickie Ward of Omega and Mary Beth (Jimmy) Jefferson of Nashville; son: Roddie (Jane) Odom of Thomasville; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday June 22, 2012 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Lovein Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Parker and the Rev. Earl Buckholtz officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.
